Pre-match notes

Sat sri akal, I'm Sehaj. I'm in my fifth semester of Data Science, which means I spend a lot of time asking messy spreadsheets what they're hiding. The best part is the moment a pattern finally shows up — it feels a lot like spotting a gap in a back four.

When the laptop closes, I'm on the turf, at martial arts training, or on my way to one of them with Travis Scott, Don Toliver or Karan Aujla in my ears. At college I'm sub-head of the IETE-SF committee, and I've worked with an NGO that helps bring education to underprivileged communities — the work that's taught me the most.

The rest of the time you'll find me at a concert (I've been to a lot), at the odd club night, somewhere new, or saying yes to something I've never tried. I care about building things that are useful to real people, a good meal after a long day, and Real Madrid winning on Champions League nights. Cristiano is the GOAT. This is not up for discussion.

FT · Education 1–0 Inequality

Working with an education NGO

I worked with an NGO focused on making good education reachable for underprivileged communities. It's the most grounding thing I've done, and a reminder that skills are worth more when they're shared.

FT · Sehaj 3–2 Everyone else (allegedly)

Evenings on the turf

Five-a-side under the floodlights with the same crew whenever the schedule allows. White shirt, lime socks, zero fear of a sliding tackle. And yes — that's a top scorer trophy. I finished as the top scorer of a tournament, and I will be bringing it up.

Football taught me that the boring work — tracking back, talking, staying calm — is what wins games.
